STARS complets the acquisition of Home Shopping Service

Following the last press release dated July 15th, Stars, parent company of Teleshopping, has finalized the acquisition of 100% of Home Shopping Service, one of French major players in home shopping in France, as shown in the M6 Group press release, dated 1st October 2020.

With this acquisition, STARS has become the number one independent player in the DRTV sector in France and in Europe, while preserving the identity of the two companies that make it up. The continued development in France of direct marketing and ecommerce offers the company very positive prospects : the home shopping industry has demonstrated over its 30 years of existence in France, its capacity to adapt to changing tastes and buying pattens of the TV audience, moving towards Internet sales as of 1995, and more recently with the development of mobile device sales, that represent now a major part of its sales. More recently, the businesses demonstrated their continued relevance in the market by attracting very different profiles of customers during the lockdown in 2020, said Jérôme Dillard, Stars CEO.

The resilience of Stars business model will allow HSS to develop its various activities for the long run, and beyond that, allow the group to actively propose the launch of a 24h home shopping channel in France in the DTT market. This will allow an independent growing French player to help local regional businesses to display and market their products to a national audience.

Home Shopping Service is the legal entity that produces M6 Boutique, the teleshopping program on M6 channel, the Group's first diversification launched in 1988.

Stars is a simplified joint-stock company incorporated in 2019 to take stakes in teleshopping activities in Europe, and more broadly in distance selling activities.

In Stars, Jérôme Dillard holds the majority.

Jérôme Dillard has a long history with, and a deep knowledge of the teleshopping market, having managed Home Shopping Service from 2000 to 2007, and the company Téléshopping from 2010 to 2016, then since 2019. He participated in the foundation of ERA Europe in 2003, and is a member of the board of directors of Fevad.
