December 2021

Dear ERA Global family,

Time is flying and another year in difficult times is coming to an end. We believed to fully restart in 2021. If you remember last year´s X-mas song, we were sure to meet in Amsterdam and Las Vegas to follow. Behind the scenes, the ERA Global team has worked hard, but unfortunately, many of us could only unofficially meet in Malta.

As new ERA Global chairman, I would like to take the chance to thank all of you, who supported our organization financially or through participation in the board. Only if all of us show the same responsibility and common sense we can bring our non-for-profit association through this pandemic and ensure our needed global network.

Due to Covid, it’s again not fully in our hands, but we are waiting in the wings to start into a successful New Year, having at least two conferences, in Amsterdam and Las Vegas, and participating in The Inspired Home Show in Chicago. Furthermore, we plan our membership meeting during the Ambiente show on 10 February. Depending on the circumstances we are again working on one or more digital events, which are a great opportunity to share information and new ideas but also a potential promotion opportunity for our members.

But this is not all. In a changing world, we will also have to start the discussion of what ERAG should stand for in future, who will be our future members and attendees and which services can they expect at which cost. Is it all about conferences or is it more what we expect?

In the executive committee, consisting of Ken Daly, Julian Oberndörfer and myself, we are aware that the future of ERAG is completely dependent on the broad support of you as members, amongst others by paying membership fees and making use of our sponsorship packages at our conferences. For almost 2 years we are still meeting weekly to have a close look at our finances, and we have undergone one or other financial shortages, but could steer everything out perfectly.

I am really looking forward to seeing you all live soon, having good discussions and the one or two drinks at the bar, but at the end of the day it is all about business, and ERAG can only survive if everyone experiences the clear commercial benefit of being a member.

But now it’s time to say goodbye to the challenging year 2021, to have a great and healthy holiday season, a bright and merry Christmas and then let us hit the ground running into a prosperous New Year. All the best to you and your beloved ones.

Best regards,

Dieter Schneider
